DESCRIPTION: Unique, Extraordinary opportunity for an experienced Cook to work in a large, top-of-the-line food truck utilizing only the absolute highest quality ingredients; all of which are certified Biodynamic, certified Organic, 100% Grassfed or Wild. The truck is aiming to become 12-Spoons certified, Organic certified, Biodynamic certified and will truly be one-of-a-kind.
SCHEDULE: 40+ hours per week, Wednesday thru Saturday, 10:00am to 8:30pm (w/ 30 min. break). Occasionally may need to start an hour early to facilitate vehicle maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performing daily fill and empty procedures for all water and waste tanks, daily driving of food truck between New Castle and Glenwood Springs, daily advanced food preparation for menu items, final preparation and service of all menu items, use of all cooking methods for food preparation including stewing, sauté, grilling, frying, basting, roasting, etc., use of point-of-sale system and computer to manage kiosk, online and in-person orders, customer service, set up and break down of truck daily, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dishes, polishing equipment, occasional deep cleaning of truck including floor and hood systems and any other reasonable tasks requested. This is a very busy and fast-paced position requiring organization and the ability to work and clean efficiently. Applicant should be familiar with a fast-paced food operation and be able to work well in it, understand basic inventory control practices such as labeling, FIFO and be able to work well independently.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an active driver’s license and a good driving record. Applicant must be able to pass a background check and preemployment drug screening. 4 years food service industry experience, with at least 2 of those years in a position of sous chef, prep cook or line cook. Food Safety Training: HAACP and food safety will be required on the job training to be completed immediately after hire. Strong computer, spreadsheet, and communication skills. Be local or able to immediately relocate at your own expense.
